I love fitness! There is nothing quite like the buzz you get from completing a workout and feeling proud of yourself. The gym is my happy place! If I’m not exercising, then I’ll be a home, cooking up a storm, trying to find ways to feed my family healthy and delicious food.
I found my passion for exercise during my time serving as a police officer, where I discovered the huge benefits it gave in relation to mental fitness as well as keeping physically fit and strong enough to do the job.
After being a personal trainer for the past 2 and a half years, I would say that my main rewards are seeing people gain confidence – this may be within a gym environment, or gaining confidence in themselves and going on to live a life that they previously did not feel comfortable living. Building a persons confidence takes time, but let me assure you that it can be achieved.
As a busy mum myself, I totally understand how difficult it can sometimes be to find time for yourself – to exercise and to eat a healthy diet. I can show you tips and tricks to keep you on track of your fitness and nutrition which can fit into your daily life.
Whilst working in the fitness industry, it soon became clear to me, how much of an important role nutrition plays, not just in terms of ‘dieting’ but ensuring that your body is correctly fuelled in terms of training, or at various stages of life for example pregnancy or menopause. As a result, I have now completed a qualification in nutrition which entitles me to offer nutritional advice to clients either through personal training or as a stand alone service.
I show a great interest in menopausal nutrition, as this time in life can have a huge effect on women and symptoms can be greatly reduced by getting your diet right.
If you are looking to start a fitness journey, get an idea of what you should be eating in terms of a healthy diet, or have just hit a plateau and need some great advice, then you have definitely come to the right place!
